Multi sided issues

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THIS IS MY REVISED POST

 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In America we have 2 major political parties, democrats and republicans. Democrats and Republicans cannot agree on anything, they are mostly on opposite sides, however they are individual people and as such have their own opinions, a republican may be pro choice and a democrat may be pro life, however the general consensus is that republicans are pro life and the democrats are pro choice. most of their issues can be easily solved by simple compromises that would address both of the parties grievances. So why are these issues not resolved? Why do the opposing sides constantly insist that only their extremist views are right and there is only one answer to the problem? I will outline a controversial topic that may have easy middle ground solutions.

Let’s start with a big topic, abortion.
Abortion is a large topic internationally and there is a general standstill in this debate. However this debate is one that cannot afford to have a standstill. Raising children is hard and many times social stigmas or poverty will force women to have no other choice an abortion, most of the time these abortions are administered unsafely. Unsafe abortions are those that are self administered or done by untrained people, 20 million unsafe abortions occur around the world every year and 70,000 of these result in the woman's death. A decision that can save the life of women who die from unsafe abortions needs to be made. Currently the abortion debate is in the hands of politicians making decisions for political gain and not for the sake or safety of the mothers. Because of the controversy around this debate women around the world are suffering mentally and physically from the inadequate medical care. Abortions will happen whether or not they are legal, and the only way to prevent illegal abortions is to make abortion legal, and give control of woman’s bodies back to women.
In the abortion debate there are currently two major factions on opposing sides of the debate, the pro choice and pro life groups. The Pro-Life group advocates the need for abortion to be completely illegal in all but the most critical situations. The Pro-Life group often is often, but not always associated with Christian morality and several other religious groups, especially in the Untied States. They believe that life starts at conception or the moment of fertilization, and that abortion is the same as murder. The Pro-Life movement often uses horrific pictures of aborted fetuses to further their cause; however their use of these pictures is harmful to the emotional state of a woman who is having or has had an abortion. The ides that life starts at conception is also false, the fetus brain is not even fully developed and functional until week 29 of the pregnancy. The Pro- Choice movement believes in a woman’s right to control her own body and chose if she wants an abortion. They believe that by giving sexual education at an earlier age and by allowing safe abortions and the use of contraceptives. Many Pro-Choice advocates actually believe that abortion is wrong, but that outlawing it will cause pregnant women to use unsafe abortions so making abortion illegal would cause harm to women. Since legalization of first and second trimester abortions the unsafe abortion death rate dropped as legal and safe abortions were performed.
Politics has had a major role in the deciding of abortion legalization and illegalization. The Supreme Court made the decision on the Roe v. Wade case that the decision to abort a pregnancy is up to the woman in the first and second trimesters and abortions would only be allowed in the third trimester if there is medical complications. The decision by the Supreme Court saved many lives and gave the freedom of choice beck to women but before Roe v. Wade women had much less freedom and were in much more danger of unsafe abortions. Abortion was not made illegal until the mid 1800 during the women’s rights movement to increase resentment against the movement. That was when abortion first began to be used for political gain. During 1880 many laws were passed prohibiting abortions and during that time the death rate among women doing their own home abortions increased, as did the death rate because of unsafe abortions. Politics has always played a large role in the social acceptance of abortion and the debate is commonly used in political campaigns to gain support for a candidate or political party. After abortion began to become a political issue people started to paint abortions in a more negative light and vilified women who got them. This practice of making abortion seem like an evil thing hurt women all over the world, and it caused women to be to afraid to get the medical help they needed and still need today. Denying women the right to an abortion is dangerous as women will get them whether it is legal or not and when abortions are illegal they cause death and harm.
pre planed environment is much better for the child and bringing the child into a mother’s life when she is not prepared to raise him, can be very detrimental to the child’s health, a mother should have the right to determine the right environment to have a child in. The health of women and that of our future children depend on giving the right to have an abortion to women.

THIS IS THE ORIGIONAL POST

Possible counter arguments
If someone says life starts at conception I disagree. Life starts when something is intelligent enough for its specific species to be considered even slightly functional, for a human that would be when the brain develops, until then the fetus is a ball of flesh and protein not unlike another organ. To reiterate until a human has a brain it is not alive.
If someone says it should be a right of women to abort even to the last trimester I disagree. When the baby finally develops its brain and can think basic subconscious thoughts, and is starting to think conscious thoughts then it is a living creature and to kill it would be akin to murder unless there are health risks involved. If the mother does not want it then she can give it up for adoption. however this is very late in the pregnancy and abortions in the last trimester are illegal because of this.

Extenuating circumstances
No matter what stage the pregnancy is in if the baby being born poses some risk to the mother’s health possibly causing the death of both of them the mother should have the right to abort, or take a gamble and see if she can birth the baby. It would be unfair to condemn a woman to death just because she is in the trimester where it is illegal to abort. women are allowed to abort the baby if their is a potential health risk but many people are against this.
Something to think about
No one ever mentions the men in all of this; men have as much to do with creating a life as women do. So where is the mans right in all of this? If a woman wants to abort a baby and the man wants to keep it does he get any rights? I leave this for you to think about.

I am by no means an expert on this
I have used death rates, statistics, and articles written by experts to state my opinion. i have submited all of my resources at the bottom of the page. it is up to you to look at the sources from all sides and unbiased and for you opinion on the truth.

I did not cover the secular ramifications and influences in this debate for more information go to

Here is also the wkepedia page, you can gain basic knowledge of the terminology and things that accompany this post, also a good look into the debates past.wikepedia on abortion

There is no one or the other side to this, one blank, flawed idea can or cannot be applicable, and often times there are many solutions to a single problem that people do not see, because they constantly convince themselves that there is no way they can be wrong.

(On an unrelated not there is no reason stem cell research should not be legal, you can use only the umbilical cord at no harm to the baby or mother and amazing leaps in the field of medicine and longevity can be made with it, so what is the problem?)

(On another unrelated note how about we stop making our government a fucking high school teenage popularity fight and do something about the insane bribes our politicians are getting to stand there and yell at each other like children all day, to get more popularity and be re elected so they can get more bribe money, instead of doing something productive like actually putting in beneficial laws.)

<one last side note> please look at this from a neutral scientific point of view if you are a bigot about this i will ignore any comments you make but if you have general constructive criticism even if it is counter to my point i will welcome the chance for debate
